Youth Club
Where? - Cookstown Baptist Church Hall
When? - Every Friday night from October to Easter - 8:15-10:00 pm
Who? - Any young person age 11 and up is welcome.
What do we do?
Each night is full of fun, games and plenty of laughter. We are kept busy with football, unihoc, netball, volleyball etc. Those who do not want to partake in sports can play the Wii! We occasionally have visiting speakers who will give us talks on topics such as missionary work, drug addiction and basic first aid. We have had a bouncy castle night and a keep fit night too!
As we are affiliated with the S.E.L.B, we are sometimes able to offer archery and even canoeing.
We have 3 or 4 trips per year to venues such as The Lagan Valley Leisureplex, Leisure Centre, Dundonald Ice Rink, The Odyssey Arena to see The Giants and of course an end of year trip to Portrush.
What is our purpose?
We aim to offer these young people an alternative to the other Friday night activities in our town such as teenage discos etc. In all we do and say we attempt to tell them about and show them God's love. As we get to know them, they and their families will often come along to other church meetings such as praise nights, carol services, church BBQ etc.
